Brochure Errors
While in Melbourne on Tuesday I picked up the new range of BMW brochures and it makes for good reading. I am still amused that a company that spends so much on their advertising literature can still make silly mistakes.
Like in the first S brochure that I ever read, there is a photo that shows the oil filler cap on the righthand side. In this current brochure we are told on page 4 "It also has magnesium cylinder heads for reduced weight." I thought only the covers were magnesium and only a minor weight saving. Of course reading the brochures is always amusing in the way advertising speak is used to convey the message that you are making the best decision of your life and this machine will fulfill all your desires. It is actually a very well presented brochure and will take pride in my collection. Cheers TREVOR ![]() |

BMW Brochures are always very good. I remember reading the one pertaining to the R1100S over and over, gloating over every detail and image. It really showed off the bike, which is visually very appealing, to excellent advantage. Gotta say, it really instilled a great urge in me to own it...

well said Rattus, I was going to buy a yellow one after perusing the brochures.................................'til I went and stood next to it!
Then it was.....too much yellow,so I bought a black one,and painted the wheels white to the disgust of the guys at the shop.(they screwed their noses up when I told them of my intentions, but were surprised when they saw it) |

I quite like the theme of the R1150RT brochure - with the migratory geese and some interesting juxtaposing of them.
