PPFOG TKC70 response

Hey Richard, Just had a friend install a set of TKC70s on a R12GSA and the only negative comment he had made me immediately think of you. He likes the tire a lot, great in the wet, feels well planted when cornering, turns in quicker than the Anakee 3s, just noticeable noise on certain pavement surfaces, and the one negative? It hunts on grooves and he specifically mentioned those ridges on stone surface roads where the sealer is put down uneven. Thought you would be interested. Not enough dirt riding to form an opinion.

It was great riding with you last week, hope we can ride together again before next year. Oh, and the Pilot Road 4 experiment on my GS ended at 3,600 miles. It actually went away in the center first but the edges were not far behind. I did put another PR4 on the back because the PR4 on the front only has 1400 miles on it. TKC70s next, the hunting or following grooves does not bother me as much as it does you.

Gary

Flatty and I may be in the neighborhood this summer, so hopefully you are not riding to Australia or some other place.

The Tourance next are impressive so far, calculations show the rear wearing better then the Anakee3. I am wearing out the front as fast as the rear, and it started with 3/32 less tread, so if tread continues I will be going through front faster.

Florida Gary and I did a bunch of dirt fire roads, he should have never said he missed his dirt bike!

Here is my tire history on the F8GS

Anakee3 695 miles/32 R 1098 miles/32 F
Anakee 2 303miles /23 R 454 miles/32 F
Scorpion trail 409 miles/32 R 547 moles/32 F
Tourance Next 810 miles/32 R 810 miles/32 F

At that rate the Tourance next rear should go about 7K, front 5600.

Not this year, bigger commitment than I can make this year.

Reference the TKC70's. Do y'all have any off-road experience with them yet? I'm thinking TKC70 on the back and TKC80 on the front for my R12GS being as my F800GSA is gone.

I want to call bull winkle on that. Why would they last 11,000 or 12,000 km's on my HP which makes more (and well used) HP?

You ride on quartz crystal roads?

Winkle, I get more than your kind of mileage on Pilot Power 3's.

.

Come east we will show you how to use tires up

The longest lasting tire I had on the Boxer cup was 2750 miles on a set of Pilot Road 2 CT's, the shortest 3 days and 1100 miles on a set of Pirelli Corsa 3's And the front are shot in the same time.

Getting better tire life with the F800GS, but on the trip a month ago, looks like the front Tourance next might wear out before the rear.

Thousands of 2nd and 3rd gear corners every day will do it.

Re-read the original, it does not really bother me as much as I noticed the Anakee 3 didn't follow the grooves nearly as much as the other tires I have used. Something that set them apart from other tires.

Still liking the Tourance next.

So I'm guessing no one uses the TKC70/TKC80 option for dual sport use? That means I can be a trail blazer!

Why would anyone that doesn't know ridemore call bull winkle?
Obviously you don't know the man and maybe you just need to spend sometime riding here in the smokeys. Its really not about HORSE POWER.

What I want to know is how can a thread on tires ....especially dual sport tires, devolve into competitive sharing?

Hey Guys, This reminds me of going into a restaurant a few years ago that required a shirt and tie. I had on a collared shirt but the only thing I could find to serve as a tie was a set of jumper cables. While proudly wearing my cables with a modified Windsor knot, I was stopped at the door and after pleading my case was allowed to enter with one caution, “we will let you in this time, but don’t start anything”.

It is now ok to call bull winkle.

In 5 ½ years I have made 109 posts on this Forum, Why so few? Because of the frequency of negative responses. I have made several really good friends on this forum, but I think it best that I stay a silent reader and contact friends with PMs. Carry on troops.
