I remember when nearly every day CK would post stunning Utah landscapes in the "OT: photos ..." thread. And I miss those posts ...
Riding a GS now. Have no regrets for teaching my sons to ride when they were small. One took to it, the other not as much, but both gained mechanical aptitude and risk management skills. Also taught the rider to fly; now he earns a living flying and teaching others to fly wide-body jets, and every now and again still rides with his old man. Still cherish every day on the road. |
While I am knee deep into starting a new business (and learning the pitfalls of acquiring permits), I ALWAYS make time for a ride.
These days, it seems to be more dirt than asphalt, but it's on one of my bikes and as such, it's good! Hoping that I can make the time to meet Ricky in Seattle and then go to Colorado via Canada for TOR. I have every intention! If we plan on a ride in September, I might be able to have you all at my new coffee house, to start the ride! - All depending on the permitting process, though... sigh. |

maybe we've got it all wrong GotRoad.
maybe by "coffee house" he means the kind you find in Amsterdam. |
das Kaffeehaus, best of luck! After the permits, I hope the $15/hr. and paid leave for whatever hasn't come to your area yet.
|
$15 an hour? Really john?
ralf appears to be an owner of the establishment. therefore, $15 an hour is way, way, way above what he'll be making for a while. ...and "paid leave" is what new business owners call "sleeping". lucky for us, we can look back and say we were there when Wilkowski World Wide Enterprises was just one coffee shop, started by a guy we rode bikes with. |
Is it true that a line of bikes are being considered that target the quickly growing, transgender person populations that are sprouding up world wide. These new "tri-power" designs offer the rider an option between chain, shaft, or belt drive...........for whatever special needs one might need. Thoughts on sales in your areas.

Yes indeed times change. It's much more difficult for me to charm younger women into spending time with me. But now that I am retired and have gone back to my alma mater I am in an environment that is very rich in targets! However my target bracket is now much older. I can gaze at the co-eds but 'tis the adjuncts that I stand a real chance with. And yes the ol' girl is my campus ride. And yes I still get the question "that's a BMW?". When I tell them that it's 16 years old the most frequent reply is "day-um!".

Not an obit, just older and wiser members Riding with several Pelicans this week!
|
Well, older anyway.
|
You guys still ride? I just curmudgeon around the keyboard these days.

i'm on i-don't-have-to-ride summer break, which started three weeks ago.
previous to that, was clicking off about 600 miles per week, mostly on the BCR, but also on other brands. although i'm glad i don't have to ride, i am getting a tad twitchy about it. fortunately i can walk down to the airport and pay someone to throw me out of a plane. it helps skim off some of the adreneline/boredom that builds up. |
