Another Kieth Code fan
I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't a racing school. They also have a dual outrigger bike that they call the lean bike. The biggest breakthrough for me occured after drilling on that rig. It allows an instructor to position you on the bike while its leaned into a turn standing still, then you ride on it at lower speeds while doing donuts on the paddock to get the feel of a perfect riding position. This translates nicely when you apply that on the track. (On a bike without the outriggers, of course!
Other than that, I highly reccomend taking two days together to see some real results. You'll be amazed at the laptime improvement on the second day. I am signed up for the CLASS school in June. I'll report back since I am taking my SBX on the track for the first time. Yeah! I think.

Outriggers
I'll respond Bigwhup so you post wasn't wasted time.
I've often thought of outriggers giving confidence to a learner rider who struggles with low speed riding, especially while riding the heavyweights. I've never seen such an apparatus used anywhere. Can the bike be ridden slowlywith the outriggers on? How big are they and do they hinder the rider at all? |

Robert: Are you signed up for the June 9 & 10 CLASS? I am signed up for the 9th, as it is the only day I can make it. First time for me and looking forward to it.

Yes, I will be there for the two days. When we get closer to that date i'll confirm with you when I get up there. I'll be staying at the Osthoff, for sure.
Cool, I'm glad you're going.

I got an email from the school this summer that they were holding a wheelie riding seminar as well, the practice bike has some kind of rig on it to keep the rider from going over.
Now that would be an interesting deposit to lose...

Jeff,
Did you ride your bike to your house or did it come back in the bed of a pick-up?

I have always liked the Laguna Seca circuit. I have been told that the corkscrew is awesome!!. Always great action from good racing.
jclark - What is your perspective of riding this fabulous corner on your S? Cheers TREVOR

Pat – firstly a big fat THUUPT!
Did not crash this day, but yes, it was trucked down. Sheesh. Trevor – it's a hoot! Scary too...a hundred pounds ( that's 3.255 fortnights for our metricly challenged ) lighter would be terrific for that quick left/right downhill. The S is quite the ballerina for her size, but I can see why Ducati/Honda/Aprillia/Suzuki/Yammi are the ones contesting – after many laps the getting her down, getting her up play hod with your bod. And on lighter machinery, corner entrance can be adjusted more effacatiously( <- issat a word? ), where the Beemer uses up a little more of the track – not a bad thing as there is still plenty left....but... That is not to say it isn't FUN. It is. Eron is probably the best reference on this board as to the vageries of Laguna Seca, as he mucho seat time there. jeff I'll be bak. |
