Day 16-Lyons Ferry to home 310 miles

The start of my last day was warm and sunny-

Two expensive cloths line supports-

Look who finally got up. Well he is smiling so that is a good sign-

The bridge that replaced Lyons ferry-

The Palouse River joins the Snake River from the bridge-

Took ralf to see the Palouse Falls but it was the worst time of day for viewing or photography-

Someone needs to clean more often-

Day 16 continued-

Sure looks like Kansas but Othello, WA was our gas stop. Got a text from a friend informing me our route past Mt. Rainier was blocked by an overturned semi. Thanks Steve. We decided to keep moving west and make a decision a few hours later at lunch in Yakima-

At lunch the text said the road was clear now. Stepped outside and Ralf was talking to his brother. Hard to eaves drop when you don't understand German-

My favorite view of Mt. Rainier, Tipsoo Lake at Chinook Pass. Notice the good cameras laying on the rock-

r

This shot looks better-

Have to admit I love Mt. Rainer-

2039 miles from Paonia to home and 4174 total for the whole trip. Thanks again for tagging along. See you at TOR 2018.

...and I still laugh about that "Worm Blower"! That just got me at that moment... well that, and you comment of it being the "ultimate gardening tool".

The $hit people come up with, one can only wonder at times.

Back to the trip and our suffering... that traffic, OH THE TRAFFIC!!!

Looks fine for cliff diving though!

Lots of great scenery on your trek Rick, much nicer than the trip across Oklahoma. Thanks so much for taking the time to share it with the R1100S community!

What a great looking trip. If you go next year I'd like to join you for part of it. My rig might not be great on gravel but I can get up your driveway and back down in the rain.

Haven't thought about the route for next year. We will see if Ralf can get his mountain of junk on the 650. This year worked well meeting Ralf at TOR then riding back together so just me going there. Might try a spring ride with the S. Stay in touch.

You'd be surprised what I can fit on a motorcycle... ANY motorcycle. You'll also be surprised about all my new acquisitions... making life a lot simpler and traveling a lot lighter!

No more 20 pound twin mattress, for starters

I really enjoyed the Lyons ferry, Palouse falls (almost fell off the trail once, it's a looong way down ) and Mt. Rainier pix. That was the route I always took to visit my Kamiah buddies in Idaho. Ever ride to the top of Raven's Roost?

please forgive my typing, I'm down to one arthritic finger bent like my dog's hind leg...

But you are still typing... and that's what's important!

Nope but I keep meaning to go up that way then over the mountains to Greenwater skipping Chinook and Cayuse. Probably all burnt now.

I read this a bit quickly and just for the briefest of moments I had a fleeting memory of my good buddy Ralf in a speedo.

You two seem to be aging rather well!

Good to see you are still alive Rob. It was a good trip and the more I keep taking these practice rides the better I get at it.
