Coding Steering Angle Sensor E83 X3
Hello all.
A little background first:
Got the light trifecta on the dash. Was able to check with my Schwaben/Foxwell scanner and found SAS code and a DSC code related to SAS. Recalibrated SAS and fault would go away only to return a day or so later. Checked live data for SAS and it was a little choppy as you turn the wheel, so I feel its safe to say that the SAS was going out.
Replaced the SAS with a new one (Royal PITA) and can see live data (looks good but not centered, needs calibrating). Foxwell/Schwaben won't let me calibrate it until I code the new sensor. However, the coding operation fails every time I try it. I even plugged the old sensor back up and it will not code it either. I updated the scanner software to the latest and still no better.
Anyone have a similar experience? Advice? I guess my fallback will be to take it to a BMW shop and see if they can do it with their $$$ equipment.
Thanks in advance for any help.
