Throttle Adaptation/Calibration
I have a 2008 Cayman S (987.1). I have read conflicting information about a procedure to adapt or calibrate the throttle actuator with the car's computer (DME). Some suggest this is necessary anytime you disconnect the battery. Some suggest this should be done routinely (maybe every 10k miles). Some suggest it is necessary when changing the throttle unit itself.
I have searched in my owner's manual. There is no mention of this at all in the manual. It does talk about needing to calibrate the power windows after disconnecting the battery. So i have two questions: 1 - Is human initiated throttle adaptation/calibration something that applies to my car specifically (987.1 3.4L CS)? 2 - If yes, what is the correct way to do it? (found conflicting info on this as well) Thank you, Ron Milliet Long Beach MS |
