Clamshell issue on cursed Boxster

Hi guys.
Looking for assistance on my cursed Boxster.
I've not posted on here for a while... thats because my car has been in for repair for 15 months!!
Took it for a heater matrix, the transmission failed whilst there (i knew it was dodgey) so it needed a refurb, several other issues and me having serious illness have lead me not to really chase or need it but I finally drove it home for the first time since 10th Feb 1019 yesterday!! (drove beautifully!)
So, today, in my wisdom I thought, top down (I live in Cyprus and it's nice and sunny) and go for a drive... more fool me
I noticed one of the plastic clamshell coverings was on the outside when the roof was up. I lowered the roof, thought I'd got it repositioned correctly inside (comparing it to the other one at the other side for reference) then lowered the roof fully. Near the end of the process, I felt something not right so stopped and started to raise it again as I didn't want to force it down all the way and heard a bang as the clamshell popped from its rails on both sides and crashed down.

With the motor arm connected, I've not been able to tilt, push and find a position to try and get the ball sockets of the clam, back into the rails either side (if thats where they go).

I think I'm going to be told to disconnect the motor arm as that seemed to stop clear movement anywhere near enough to pop back into the rails.

Please help!!
I thought getting the car back fixed after so long would help cheer me up from the illness... lol, don't need the stress of something else going wrong after less than 24 hours!!!
Got to fix this myself... and without my Mrs knowing!

Sorted. Zero cost fix! First one in 3 years lol!
Used pliars to take the clips off the bolts holding the rear of the clamshell to the motor arms
Once disconnected, easily popped the ball sockets of the clam into the slots in the slider mechanism then reattached the rear part of the clam back to the motor arms.
Didn't lower fully at first but once we closed fully, then opened fully, everything sorted itself out.
Finally added the plastic covers (which caused the problem in the first place) and with those correctly on (checking they didn't catch as the roof opened and closed) still open/shut as expected.

In all honesty I want to take it out for a drive but for tonight, I'm going to leave it so I can sleep for the first time in months knowing there is nothing wrong with the car!!!
