service in 30 days

Does anyone know what all has to be done when this light comes on? I know oil change is one of them but not sure of the rest.

It's just a timed light that comes on to send you to the dealership. It's set by time, not anything else. Take it to the dealer and he will find a bunch of stuff to do and then reset the light to go off same time next yr.

Welcome to the forum! Let us know if you have any other questions and make sure to check out our site's DIY tech articles on your Boxster/Cayman for any maintenance or repair needs.

As mentioned above, that light is set on a arbitrary timer.

If you're at all mechanically inclined, you could save half of that. These are all very easy DIY jobs.

oil + filter = $100
cabin + engine filter = $100
tool to reset Service Now light = $100

There are various tools avail. I bought an iCarsoft PorII on ebay for $110. My dealership used to reset the light for free but then started charging $35 per reset. Only took me 3 times to reset myself to justify the cost of the tool. Between my 08 LE, my 08 CSS, and any Wheeler Dealer cars I'm selling, buying it was a no-brainer.

I just though I'd post this.. my 60,000 mile service was coming due, so I made an appointment, a couple weeks ago, for this last Wednesday.
I arrived.
