Hello,
I searched allover to no avail. I'm looking for a DIY video on how to replace a 2008 Cayman S987-1 crankshaft position sensor. Thanks, Mk. |

One retaining bolt and one plug. Passenger side (LHD) of bellhousing. Easy from under car.
Cheers

Thanks Jeff for your interaction
It helps, but as I am newbie to DYI, I would definitely need a video of some sort to follow. Would be great to get my hand on one. Best, Mk. |

Videos for every possible repair to one of these cars simply do not exist; if you are that uncomfortable working on something this simple, take it to someone that knows what they are doing.

What JFP said. The book time to replace is .50 hours. Cheap to take it to someone who knows what they are doing.
Cheers

We don't currently have that tech article. If we get a chance to perform the procedure, we will be sure to document it.
The sensor is located on the transmission bellhousing to the right and can be accessed on the engine from under the vehicle. Look at the rear of the right side cylinder head, follow the electrical harness down to the sensor. In it just below the head in the bellhousing. Once you locate it, disconnect the electrical connector. Then remove the Allen fastener from the sensor and pull it straight out to remove. Be sure to remove the harness from the holder before removing sensor. Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lbs.). |
