What are Modular Headers?
FABSPEED MOTORSPORT USA has over 25+ years of experience designing, engineering, and Dyno developing the World's very best air-cooled and water-cooled Porsche performance systems. Our engineering team has developed the world's very 1st Modular, Dual functional, Long Tube header for Porsche cars that allows for Street legal HJS German imported catalytic converter performance and then within only a few minutes, allows Road Course, and Drivers Education Racers to remove the HJS catalytic converter for true real endurance racing events like PCA, POC, and other road course sanctioned racing competition events. If the racing sanctioning body requires you to run a catalytic converter on the racetrack the modular design allows the user to swap in that HJS catalytic converter replacement quickly and efficiently.
The Fabspeed RENNTRACK system is a Patent Pending design that is the world's very best- dual function header system. These headers are CAD designed and incrementally Dyno-developed. The Fabspeed Renntrack header system was fully street and Autobahn endurance tested. We consulted with noted Porsche engine builders in the USA and Germany and with HJS Emissions technology engineers to develop this header. The PROBLEM and the SOLUTION from Joe Fabiani President and CEO of Fabspeed Motorsport USA. As a Porsche Club member for over 35 years as well as having been a Club Racer, Drivers Education instructor, and "Gung-Ho" Porsche air-cooled and water-cooled Porsche owner. I realized that many Drivers' education, Club racers, factory Porsche racecars, and other cars with OEM headers with factory catalytic converters will have headers with cats that FAIL or BREAK down after long-term racing usage. Once again factory Porsche street car headers with OEM catalytic converters and any and all Porsche factory racecars CUP CARS with catted headers will have failed catalytic converters. Even Porsche CUP and GT4RS Clubsport cars with factory Inconel stainless steel type 600 series catalytic converters break down and cause engine misfires and major losses of power. The ONLY solution until NOW is to either go CATLESS (which is 100% illegal in the 50-state United States and most other modern countries and especially the European Union). The smart innovative solution is to keep the world CLEAN and GREEN and the Fabspeed Renntrack headers allow both catted performance for emissions compliance and sound attenuation and for all-out racing durability in a Non catted system. Fabspeed developed these systems for the Porsche 987.2/981, 997.2, 991, 992 GT3, and 718 GT4 cars. We also developed modular catted downpipes for other Porsche applications that are also Patent Pending. From Rick Deman's 4.5liter monster engines to IMSA PCA Clubsport cars with broken catted OEM race headers Fabspeed now offers an optimal solution for street cars and racetracks. Fabspeed's patent-pending modular header is available for all 718 GT4/ spider/ GTS 4-liter cars. We also have the Rennkraft header available for all Porsche Boxster Cayman 987.2/981 and the GT4 club sport factory race cars and the 992 GT3 cars. This is a two-piece dual-functioning header that allows for the removal of the catalyst section for a straight piped section used for track and endurance events allowing enthusiasts to have the best of both worlds. For street cars, Fabspeed stipulates that street cars MUST use HJS catalytic converters for all times, and YES at the track a car owner can quickly and efficiently run HJS German catalytic converters and change out to New HJS cats when and if they have to for long term reliability. If the car owner wants to run cat bypass pipes at Non-noise restricted tracks and wants to enhance the lifespan of the HJS cats then straight pipes can be installed for the Racing event and catalytic converters reinstalled for street and racetrack driving. This yields high-performance gains and longevity so it won't deteriorate over time like lower-grade catalytic converters. These catalytic converters flow up to 93-95% of a straight pipe in most applications. The benefit is that you get the "straight pipe sound" while still being able to provide enough emissions scrubbing to prevent a check engine light.
