Windows do not roll up 100%

I have a '98 Boxster which I just purchased. There are some minor fixes here and there, but the one that bugs me the most is my window problem!

When my top is closed, my windows automatically roll down a few centimeters; however, I cannot roll them up all the way! I read and read the manual, but it seems that the manual AGREES with the window only being allowed to roll up all the way when the KEY is turned at the door.

I've heard that I will need a new regulator? $150 each?!!!!

What do you guys suggest?

Nope.... Real simple problem.

On your upper windshield frame, where the top latches, push the button in the latch hole all the way, then close the windows.

THat switch is bad and needs to be replaced. I think it is $25 - $35 for the switch, and about $1.00 for the locknuts to hold it in place.

OMG!! That was the problem! I so close to buying 2- $150 regulators!!

It turns out that there was a small 1cm thick adhesive foam that came off. It was stuck on the hook of the latch itsefl! I put the adhesive foam back on the button, and whala! I can now roll up my windows! I've been driving in with my windows rolled down a bit for over a month now! I was always worried about the rain and such. I kept thinking, "if worse comes to worse while it rains, I'll just drive really fast to prevent most of the water from coming into my cab!" LOL Thank you soo much!

also try disconnecting your battery and reconnecting again. Be sure to have your radio code. Once you've done this put your windows all the way down and back up again this may rest the window memory... Also check to see your top is seated properly the windows may not go all the way up thinking the top is retracting..
