Are 97 Boxster engines problematic?

Are 97 Boxster motors problematic at all? I had heard ther were some cronic major issues with the early motors. Does a supercharger on one spell disaster? I imagine it really stresses the hell out of it. If it was already marginally reliable it could probably turn it into a time bomb.
Thanks,
Adam

The 97 had no real problems to speak of. There was a bad run of engines in 1998 and early 1999 though

I have replaced the motor on every supercharged boxster I have come across. My shop refused to install them for that reason.
