Would like to swap 997 dash and cluster into 987

Hello Everyone,

I am interested in swapping out the dash and cluster in my 08 Cayman S with that from a 997. I am still in the dreaming stages but wanted to post here to see if anyone knew of this already being done or had some wisdom to help put me in the right direction.

Cheers

is the cluster from a 997.1 or 997.2 ? I believe if it is from a 997.1 you don't need the dash just the instrument cluster, then your DME needs to be reprogrammed to access it. But I'm not 100% sure on that. I know the 996 will fit into the 986 with some minor "cutting out" of the mounts. I'm installing a 997.2 cluster in my 986 but that will require some customizing of the dash and mounts.
Sorry that's all I got, someone else will most likely chime in.

Thanks for the reply. I would guess I would go with the 997.1 cluster. I like the looks of the 997 dash more than the Cayman as well. I guessimated the size and I think the 997 dash will fit.

Looks great. Was it difficult to do? Can you provide the very basic steps?
