question on upgrading the TB on a 06 2.7l boxster

hello all-my first post.

I've been thinking about adding a few HP to this car since the warranty expired and have decided to go thsoftronics flash route. After a bit more research, it would seem that a plenum and throttle body c hange would enhance the flash, but I'm not sure if the 75mm size that is on the 07 model is the way to go or something larger like SRP/IPD would make sense.
I do about 8 track days ayear in addition to summer time cruising.
Would appreciate any suggestions from those that have been down this road.
Mike

Just be aware that increasing the throttle body and/or plenum size/volume tend to add marginal HP only at fairly high RPM, and will tend to reduce throttle response at low RPM. Like the DME reflash, you really only benifit from these when you have already taken the car to a ten-tenths condition (headers, etc.).

Thanks for the reply.

I'm really looking for more HP in the 4-6K range for DE use; anything lower (3K) would OK for the street but I usually don't push the car much on the street.

"Croc'ed" on the planet 9 forum went this route on his 2.7l cayman--he is a pca instructor--and said is really helped the car, now at about 235 RWHP.

Garage
First, you should get an exhaust system with secondary cat-bypass pipes, headers, Then a Cold Air Intake, Iridium Spark Plugs, Low Temp Thermostat, and an underdrive pulley, IPD or Pedro'sGarage Plenum Upgrade.

Then, get the ECU upgrade to make some of those modifications come alive.

All that together should make you as fast as a Boxster S 3.2L.

UDP and Low Temp thermostat are already on my list for changes over the winter.
since I've got a limited budget--year to year--I'm looking at changes to make the most impact for the least $.
Croc'ed used a NHP header system with the stock exhaust and felt it worked fine, increasing midrange TQ while keeping the drone bug away. Eventually, I'll probably put that header on it.
