Is there any way to depress the lock pin in figure 3 step D without having a key? I know you need the key to release the locking assembly but is there any way around this?

I think that you can remove the entire ignition switch assembly without the key (Figure 4), but not the key assembly itself. At that point, you'd have to probably replace the whole mechanism.
