I have an 02 Boxster with I believe the Becker 220 head unit. I had the iSimple universal iPod integration kit installed @ a Best Buy and it works like a charm. It runs $139 and plays from the iPhone and works well with Pandora and the Napster app as well. The only problem was that it didn't work at all for phone calls. I just finished installing a Scosche bt1000 bluetooth integration kit by splicing it into the existing harness as well, and I used this very handy wiring chart to do it. I mounted the phone speaker in the passenger footwell and the mike on the steering column in front of the gauges. I drilled a hole in the top of the pocket below the deck to feed the iPod cable and the bluetooth control unit through. The reason I modified the existing radio is that I couldn't find a way to keep the factory CD changer with an aftermarket deck and the Bose 10 speaker set sounded pretty decent to me anyway. An aftermarket head unit depending on what you get and how it's wired may not sound right especially if you have the bass box behind the seats like mine.

Also- the scosche kit hooks in to the negative mute output in the harness so that no matter what I'm playing on the stereo, be it from my iPhone, radio, or CD, it mutes the music and "PHONE" is displayed on the screen as the call goes through to the bluetooth kit. The bluetooth kit has a line out connection that I could use instead of the small speaker, so I'm trying to find a way to jack that back in to the deck so the phone calls come through the car speakers instead.

I'll see if I can take a couple pictures and post them to this article- I've been pretty happy with my results.
