Replacing Gauge Module Question
I'm looking at a used gauge cluster module for my '99 Boxster Tiptronic and the seller does not know the mileage on the odometer. What happens when it is plugged in does my cars ECU reset the mileage to my cars mileage or does the mileage that is on the cluster appear? If my ECU doesn't reset it is it possible to have it programmed to the mileage on my car?
Thanks for answers. |

I have replaced a couple of clusters and the mileage on the cluster is what will appear. Palo Alto Speedometer will reset mileage for a couple hundred dollars. Note that if you have the onboard computer not all early clusters have that feature.
Replacing a high mileage cluster with a low mileage cluster takes 5 minutes. This is one reason why a PPI is so important you have to make sure the DME corrolates with the odometer.
