Passenger side rear mirror - reverse function

2001 Boxster base 5spd

Hello all,
I know the passenger mirror is supposed to adjust for you to see the curb when I shift to reverse. Recently that function stopped working. I can still adjust it remotely.

Is there something I can check or reset to see if there may correct the problem? Would disconnecting / reconnecting the battery be an option?

Thanks

as far as i understand, this option comes only if you have seats with memory.
try resting the memory of your seat.
in other words, adjust the seat and mirror, and press the memory button on the seat.

I believe it also only works if you have the mirror selector switch set to a particular side, but I can't remember if it's the left or right side. Try putting the car in reverse and then switch the selector switch to see if that fixes it...

The order I have found to work is as follows:

1. In Neutral, set the mirror selector to the passenger's side.
2. Put the trans in Reverse.
3. The mirror should automatically point down. If not...
3a. Adjust the mirror down to your desired level
3b. On the door panel, hold the "M" and "#" of your key simultaneously. (1 if you have key 1, 2 if key 2, 3 if key 3).
4. Put the trans in neutral/park
5. Set the mirror selector to "none" or in-between left & right.
6. The mirror should automatically adjust back. If not...
6a. Adjust the mirror back to level.
6b. Hold the "M" and "#" of your key simultaneously.
6c. Repeat steps 1-6 and test again.

They had this in '01? Before that, or no? To be honest, this is the first time I've heard of this and I've been around here awhile.
