Power Windows fail to move
2002 S that had a dead battery. Also had the seats out to detail and clean the car.
Everything else works except the windows will not budge. Key remote lock, top up and down, (windows will not drop to allow full close of top). I tried to push them down the drop just to close the top, and they wont budge at all, like they are locked up. Both doors are locked in the window closed position. If I try to lower either window, the interior light dims like the is a electrical load, brightens when I release the window button. Any suggestions, I believe the alarm is under the driver seat, is there something that locks the windows. |

Thank you for the suggestion as I am stumped, key in door as you suggested no movement in window, but central locking works which I had not checked
Using window switches, get a clack sound, but not movement, |

Removed the window and tracks and motor assembly. I had it sitting on my lap still with electrical connected. Turned the key on> pushed the window switch> motor started to turn> cables pulled tighter = it seemed to wanted to move but only the cables became tighter then relaxed. Released the switch, pushed it again with same result. I can feel the unit torque up then relax
So I disconnected the wiring harness put a multimeter to the wiring connection attached to the car. Using the ground (black) found only one that never has power flow even when working the switch for up and down. It yellow with grey or silver stripe, not sure what function it would control. Still very stumped as to why both windows at the same time seem to be frozen or locked |

There is a switch in your top center console by your rear view mirror. When you open the top the switch lowers both window. Maybe you might want to investigate that.
