I picked up a 996-613-219-10 complete with clock spring on e-bay originally from an 03 Carrera 6 speed. I needed to replace the turn signal anyway as it was not cancelling after a turn. I installed it in my 01 986 S with tiptronic, so I didn't use the new clock spring as it was for a manual transmission.
Well, I couldn't figure out the wiring as my connectors don't look like the ones in the book see photo. The turning indicator works properly now, but I've lost my roof indicator light and my transmission gear selector indicator lights. Maybe because it's from a Carrera? Same part number though. Red arrow shows extra connector on 4-stalk switch. Any suggestions? ![]() ![]() |

Sorry to have been a bit obscure. I am referring to the On Board Computer upgrade as outlined in Wayne Dempsey's book "101 Projects for Your Porsche Boxster". The part that I am referring to is the 4 stalk turn signal (etc) switch.

OBC job update:
Found the problem. Just a bad contact in the grey clip in the cluster. I think I have the rest figured out too. I'll post an update for this configuration when I have everything functional. Having the cluster wiring diagram is very helpful! |

Any reason I can't just snip this part off, see red arrow, and replace it with any old molex connector and regular, non VW, wire? I realize that I will still need the VW 000-979-010 connector wires for the cluster.

Not that I'm cheap, but the cluster wires are $17.50 plus tax each at VW here in Montreal. Fortunately they're not at the Porsche dealer 😜
