Wow...this tread has given me some new things to consider with regards to 3 blown engines 3 years with a Saabaru 2005 9-3x aero. I have been told over and over by Saab that it was caused by me switching to full synthetic oil and I should only be running Dino oil changed every 7,500! in the Boxer i.e. NOT Boxter engine in my car, especially since I constantly run high RPMs.

How did they explain to you that full-synthetic oil offers worse protection? Synthetic oil can withstand higher temperatures and therefore offer similar lubrication qualities hot or cold. If you are going to drive like you have a high performance car you are going to have to do more maintenance.
