Cool Rear boot lid fix

Here are a few photos and text of my boot lid fix. It may be helpful to some of you if you get the same problem.
This is the manual cable I left it in this position for now.

This is the problem, can you see the frayed cable on the right.

This is what I used to fix it. An electrical cable connector and some braided wire cable.

I took one of the barrels out of the connector, then threaded the frayed cable through it. Next I threaded two ends of the new cable through it from the other end, forming a loop and clamped it all together with the screws. This loop goes over the post. There is a clip on the post, take it off first, but don't forget to put it back.
