986 power steering return line routing

Hi all,

I'm swapping a 3.4 out of a '00 911 into a '99 Boxster. I had to get power steering lines because they didn't come with the car. The return line I got (p/n 986-347-439-07) doesn't fit like I was expecting, so I wanted to verify how it sits in the engine bay.

Here's the pic from the conversion tech article, you can see the return line (blue arrow) runs right on top of the case/head, exiting the front of the motor between where the AC compressor sits and the metal intake riser.

Here's a shot of mine, you can see it sits too far outboard for the same routing to be possible. It rests on the top edge of the metal intake riser. If that wasn't there, it would lay directly over the intake ports.

Does it run over the AC compressor instead of around it? Something like this:

Would love to get some info on this. I don't want to assume it can fit over the compressor and under the intake manifold if it can't. I also don't want to cut up that hose to make it fit in the spot in the tech article if it's not supposed to. Maybe I got the wrong part?
