The window gremlins have invaded my 97 Boxster. Just replaced the driver side regulator. Now, when the window reaches the top it automatically goes down to the top opening position. I have no dropdown when the door latch is pulled from inside or out. And no auto up or down. I've rechecked the adjustment and re-initialized the window. All features worked properly before I replaced the regulator. Could it be the pins in the connector for the motor didn't seat properly? Any ideas?

Sounds like something like that, I know if the door latch doesn't provide the proper inputs the windows will operate erratically. Another issue might be the convertible top latch switch. Try to observe the dome light operation as well as the passenger window operation. If only the driver side is acting up better remove the door panel and make sure the wires are routed properly and completely plugged in.
