Cold start - Vibration when selecting gear 2002S Triptronic

Hi,

We recently bought a 2002 S Boxter Triptronic with 84,000 miles on it.

I've bought the 101-Projects book and fitted the LN Engineering oil adapter / changed the oil / replaced the filter for a K&N part.

After the service everything seems fine but after a week or two I noticed a vibration would run through the car after you [cold] started and engaged drive - it disappears when you get going - and only seems to be there when cold - fine otherwise.

It is very noticeable.

Any thoughts?

I plan to change the oil in the gear box soon as well as I'm not sure when it was last done.

Thanks

Adrian

History:

When I did the oil service I removed the one remaining heat shield which was rattling. I took it to a Porsche dealership who ran through all the diagnostics before the service and gave me some general advice on keeping it well. There were no faults in the diagnostics.

The car had the IMS bearing replaced by the previous owner @ about 80,000 to a modified roller bearing:
