I have very low oil pressure on my 2001 Boxster S with 155,000 miles. My mechanic replaced the oil pump and oil cooler but no change, he thinks there is a crank shaft bearing problem causing the oil pump not to function properly. Any advice? Is it a gonner?

Is there metal in the oil filter? If so, it may be too late.
