lintronics auto leveling trouble shooting

Really at a loss. 2001 Boxster S. Would appreciate any help. Have searched high and low. No pun. The headlights dip as they should when ignition turned on. However they do not adjust when high beam is actuated. I lifted the car and took the front sensor arm off and moved it up and down with no movement in the lights. Since I can not find the information to trouble shoot the system I am at a loss. Sure Hope there is some one with the needed knowledge. Thanks.

Porsche Boxster Litronic Headlamp Kit Upgrade - 986 / 987 (1997-08) - Pelican Parts Technical Article

Here are the instructions for retrofitting the litronics to a car that didn't come with them from the factory. Since the headlights dip when you turn the ignition on, the motors in the lights are likely to be OK. I would check the electronic control unit. You may have to just buy one and swap it out. I see them on Ebay and they aren't too expensive. I'm sure they would be much more from a dealer.

Good luck.
