On Board Computer hack

Help, I have attempted the on board computer hack documented in the DIY projects an cannot get the system to function. When I try to code the OBC on with my Durametric I get the following message: incorrect number of bytes returned by control module. My boxster is a 2003 S I have the 4th stalk and the five wires and they have been checked and double checked. Does anyone have any Ideas?

Hi Obthomas, when I carried out the hack on my 2004 S with Tip the message was the same on the Durametric. I fiddled around with the options and eventually realised I needed to reset the Cluster. Bingo, all suddenly worked. There is a button to reset the Cluster in the Cluster menus. Who knew.
Hope it works for you.
