So, Hi. I have a 2010 porsche boxter S with, seemingly, an alternstor whine now occuring a long screwdrivef to the ear seems to show noise/roughness at the alternstor. It is still charging, however. Anyway, the alternator removal is more involved in this year by Porsche engineering wrapping a fuel line over top of the alternator, preventing its removal without first lowering the engine and moving the fuel line. I am wondering about simply cutting the fuel line out of the way, flaring the remaining ends and connecting fuel line hose after repacing the alternator. Doable?

Do not cut the fuel line, just remove it and lay it aside.
