Adding to the Stable

My wife and I are shopping for a different vehicle for her.
She wants a black convertible with a standard.

We're looking at several different models, Benz, BMW, Audi, Saab, Ford and it looks like we're heading towards the BMW.
I know Bob had a BMW for a while anyway, anyone else care to throw in their 2 bits?

97 BMW 328iC

Rob,

You're keeping the 911 right?!

I loved my bimmer, and the costs to maintain are alot like a Porsche. The cabs don't have very much room in the rear seats, kids are OK. At a minimum don't get less than a 328i as resale for 325's would be crap.
Do not get an Audi.
Also consider the service in your area...any BMW mechs there (I'm sure if they can work on 911's they can work on Bimmers) Parts are a killer, but alternate sources are plentiful, and lots of good websites are out there.

Let me know if you want more info.

Haven't you considered the Austin Martin Volante???

Yes I'm keeping my 911.
Thanks for the tips.

My wife thinks she should get a Ford Mustang Cab.
I'm trying to talk her into the one above, 2nd post.
Kamloops private deal asking $22,000 (no gst)

Cheers!

Oh well..... it's the wife's car, so she had the final say in the matter. I think the beemer would've been a nice addition to the fam, but she chose the Mustang.

Black Cab to match my 911,
2004 with low, low Kms
So we take two cars everywhere now!

Cheers!

Rob,
I would have chosen that Mustang over any other German car (except Porsche of course) because those bimmers are expensive to maintain!!
I made the mistake of buying an Audi and although I didn't have a problem with it, anything was really-really expensive and those cars don't age gracefully... and all eletronics are so freakin complicated that anything will be a problem just to keep it in good condition.

Mustangs are perfect workhorses and price for parts are not bad and the aftermarket for mods. is huge, so you have a lot of options!

Believe me, your wife made the right choice.
