I want to pull motor in the spring to reseal @ change exhaust ,add hyd. tensioners and MAYBE put in some warmed up cams. what is the best grind to use with stock pistons ? compression is good , I don't want to pull the heads off just yet. thanks for reading ,anybody else done something like this? norm s

i put in new 964 cams in my 79, ran fantastic, crbs would have been the other thing that would have added more performance.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, but the cams will cost you at least $1000 plus, so I'd get DR cams and let him suggest the grind.
But beware he did have issues a while back, so I'd make damn sure he's back on track before ordering.

WEB cams are good, but you basically have to make your own selection.
Elgin cams are also an option, bit cheaper but often more conservative grinds.

Be aware that cheap/deal cam sets can be reground on the base circle, resulting in rocker geometry issues... Or just end up being a horrible grind for your engine combination.
Most will want your old core cams, the core charge can be quite high compared to the shipping of your cores.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.
