2002 Pertronix removal ?

Hi all,

Now, I have a Pertronix kit in my '59 Land Rover that is a cinch to install and remove, but I'm having a problem with my 1975 2002.

The situation: I am getting spark from the coil, but not to the plugs. I am wanting to pull the Pertronix and install points and condenser to see if the Pertronix failed. (I had a Pertronix fail in my Land Rover).

The problem: I see 2 nuts that secure the Pertronix firing plate to the dizzy plate. The nuts loosen, but will not come off... And, they won't tighten now!

Question: Is there a trick to removing a Pertronic/points from a 2002 dizzy? I also removed 2 screws on the side of the dizzy to see if the entire dizzy plate would come out and maybe the head of the screw holding the Pertronix firing plate... No luck.
The manual I have doesn't have anything specific about this problem.

Thanks!
