I'm replacing the pump with a Walbro unit. wonder if you think the pump inlet should sit down on the tube attached to screen at bottom of pump housing? The OEM pump seems to have two inlets on the bottom: one that draws thru the tube bypasses screen, and another that draws perhaps thru the screen.

There should not be an line that bypasses the screen. This could be the pick up tube from the other side of the tank since it is a saddle tank design
