just purchase a 05 mini cooper s convertible,runs great but I have notice when sitting in traffic it will overheat,then when you start moving the temperature will come back down,Should I be concern about this.

Yes. I would check operation of the cooling fan and thermostat. First confirm the coolant level is OK.
