Last yearin Florida I bought a new Mini 08 battery from Godyear. It fit fine and it ran fine. Left for 6 months on a trickle charger hooked up as shown in your pictures, attached to the positive and negative and pluged into the wall outlet. When I returned the battery was dead and would not take a charge...the cells were dead. Good year replaced at no charge under warranty so I'm afraid to do that again this year. Any suggestions as to what could have happened/

Could have been a faulty battery or the trickle charger killed the battery. Try a higher quality trickle charger and remove the battery from the vehicle.
