hi could you tell me is it my shift cable that is at fault on my 2004 mini cooper sport. it was sitting at traffic lights put the car into first and was just starting to move of,heard like something had snapped then had no power. pulled over and tried all gears with engine running but the car wouldnt move.

Could be the shift cables. Do the gears grind when you try to shift or does the shifter feel loose?
