Question on Strut Tower Reinforcement Plate Install

I am about to do this repair and I wondered if bonding the plates in place would be a good idea and add even more strength. There are a number of metal adhesive used in industry, including auto body repair, which would do it. The worry is would bonding or welding focus the flexing forces around the edge of the plate and result in the tower cracking?
