2004 cooper s. Last winter, I had a hard time shifting into any gear when it was really cold out. Had to let the car warm up and it seemed ok. I'm guessing moisture got in there and froze. Then recently, this summer, I'm having a hard time shifting into 2nd and 3rd when the car is warmed up. Seems to be harder once it's been driving a while. I changed the trans fluid, but it still feels stiff. Cable issue or transmission issue?

You can start by inspecting the cables. If they have play or are binding replace them.
