mini cooper 2004 auto without paddles gears keep shifting down when driving at a constant speed and the engine revs up as though the car thinks it is going to slow down for some reason any idea's????????

Could be an issue with the steering wheel electronics or the transmission. First check the transmission fluid level to be sure it is correct. Then check the transmission ECM for fault codes. If the system is not working properly, a fault code will be set. This will be your best bet when diagnosing.
