ok, now i have 2005 mini cooper s steptronic. it runs great when its cold but when its hot it doesnt shift. Its a automatic and I was told I need to replace the transmission, do you feel maybe I should change the transmission first.I had it adapted to my driving but it didnt seem to help. I dont wanna buy a new transmission. do you have any more tips for me..

If you were told it is worn out, it likely is.

First check the transmission fluid level to be sure it is correct. Then check the transmission ECM for fault codes. If the system is not working properly, a fault code will be set. This will be your best bet when diagnosing.
