I put a fuel filter in my 2004 mini cooper s . and I didn't put no grease around the big skinny seal were the filter is .what would happen if that seal is not sealed right. would gas run out past my filter and mess up my fuel injectiors and would the car run bad. it seems to run fine. but it worries me because I don't want to mess any thing up inside the gas tank. please help me.i may have to put another fuel filter in the tank.

There would be a pressure loss if the O-ring didn't seal right. The lube on the O-ring., allows it to slide into place with the cover without friction. If things are working OK, you should be fine.
