Hey, i'm struggling to loosen the fill bolt on my '07 Mini R56. I've tried a pipe over the ratchet but it just won't budge. Any suggestions on how to do it as there isn't much room around the bolt. Thanks

Use a shallow socket and a long breaker bar. When loosening, use a swift motion to shock it.

A good penetrating oil, like Kano Labs' Aero Kroyl. WD-40 is not a good penetrating oil.

Tap the plug with a hammer. Don't try to drive it through the transmission case, but let it know it's been hit. That can sometimes break the bonds between the parts, even if you're not loosening it at the time. It can also sometimes help wick the penetrant into the interface between the parts, helping it work better.

If all else fails, heat can help. Just be careful of any plastic or rubber or otherwise heat-sensitive parts in the area!
