I have an R53, with an MSD setup, that recently stopped running in traffic. Because I didn't do the spark, fuel, etc. diagnostics, I ended buying a new fuel pump, new fuel filter, spark plugs, and camshaft position sensor, only to have it still not start....Lol Currently, no spark, and no fuel at the rail.
After a month, I borrowed a friend's scanner, and it registered P2301 and P2304 codes. Several of the club forums have stated that the MSD coil pack fries the DME, and that's why there are so many no-start incidents with the MSD installed. Your thoughts? __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: MINI Cooper High Performance Coil Pack Installation (R50/R52/R53 2001-2006) | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article |

If you suspect the DMe is faulty, check power and ground tot h coil. Then check the triggers tot he coil from the DME. Look for a primary ignition signal on the triggers.
