Hello, Please help. My daughter has a 2003 mini cooper R50. The shift cables are bad and need replaced. I was told that there are two types of shifters used in the car and that the cables I need are based on the shifter housing. The housing either has three grooves or is smooth. There is no way to view the external portion of the shift housing without removal. Is there a way to determine which housing is used and what cables are required without removing the housing?
