Hello
I have a 09 Cooper R56 N12. Replaced valvetronic motor, cam sols both, esentric sol. Code 2868 10344 won,t clear. Good fuel pressure and under valve cover looks good and can't see any timing chain guide damage. Has 94,000. Any thoughts? Hope it's not the timing chain. Will an update stop it from starting? Will the DME relay and valvetronic relay stop it from starting also? Thanks for your interest. __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: MINI Cooper R56 Valvetronic Faults (2007-2011) | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article |

if you suspect timing, check engine compression. What is it on all cylinders? Here is a great video on how to test compression:

A bad DME relay can cause a no-start. The DME relay sends power to the FI system and the low-pressure pump, so if it's bad you won't get any fuel and possibly no spark as well. Not sure about the valvetronic relay.
But it is always wisest to cover the basics first--e.g., check the compression as my two colleagues have noted. --DD
