I think most men and women have had a "bad dude" relationship.
Bad dude doesn't mean men only.

How bad? How 'bout manslaughter?

1968. I was with two of my friends and I watched a homicide go down.
It was an accident but the friend of mine was a "bad dude."

I witnessed it. We kept it secret. He killed this guy. He was a "bad dude" all the way.

Now... my guilt was relieved when he fell out of his friend's car and got run over (dead) by a hit-an-run.
