Bullitts are meant to be driven, I really want one, but can't justify the huge price for a low mileage example.

If they’re meant to be driven, why the low mileage requirement?

I would love a Mustang but wouldn't pay extra for a special edition, I haven't researched but I guess you could get a similar Mustang for less.

Good question. Everybody wants to buy a pristine low miles car for the price of a high miles car.

This guy probably bought new thinking it would be a sought after collectable in a decade. That didn't happen. His asking price is 6-10K below sticker...probably closer to $10K since photos show the HID lights..one of the few options available.
He'd have been wise to drive & enjoy. My '09 has 27,000 trouble free miles. Can't say they were all enjoyable, since the majority of them are from crowded freeway driving. But with good air and comfortable seating, it handles that chore pretty well.

And, no you couldn't get a "similar" Mustang for less. The Bullitt package was a $3,500 package back then. There is no way you could have bought a GT mustang, then for $3,500 make it the equal mechanically to a Bullitt. The leather GT500 seats and the lower rear end ratio alone...then other differences. The package was a bargain at $3,500. But yes, you could buy a regular Mustang GT of that year for a lot less. And a V-6 Mustang of the same year would be a LOT less. Guess it depends on how you define "similar".

I know for $24,500 you could buy one hell of a lot better Mustang than that.

By "better", you mean faster? Newer with the 5.0? Yes, yes you could. In the Mustang performance pecking order, the '08-'09 Bullitt is now old, slow, and obsolete. But your "better", whatever it is, wouldn't be a Bullitt, would it? BTW, the '19 Bullitt has entered production...you should start seeing them in showrooms before too long. I'm surprised Ford gave it another go...considering the age of the movie. Hell, how many of today's youth even know who Steve McQueen was?

$25k will buy a newer 5.0 with a six speed, Performance Package with better suspension/Brembos/LSD, and Recaros. Better in every way. While I’m glad you like your Bullit, it’s little more than an options package and carries no real cachet.

Sure will. Funny tho..how "wanted" ads show on the Bullitt posting board. Hell, GT's of the same and newer model years are more easily purchased locally. So, my conclusion is that some folks must think there is a cachet. I'll confess that I bought primarily because I didn't like the striped and spoilered "boy racer" looks of the GT's the local dealer had in the showroom at the time. Told the salesman if he couldn't find a Bullitt, I wasn't buying a Mustang. By the way...Bullitts have LSD and a 3:73 rear end. Very comparable performance wise to the Shelby 350 GT of the same year with it's higher rear end ratio.

And let's face it...$25K is still a cheap car...just go look to see what you can buy new for $25K. Not much...something like Cindy's Camry...a great grocery getter.

I agree. Low mileage cars are for bragging rights only. If I were looking for a Bullitt driver, I'd look less than 50,000 miles, well cared for. Might be enough '08-'09 owners ordering the new '19 and wanting to sell what you're looking for. However they are scarce with less than 7,000 made in both years. And '09's? Less than 200 in black, only 626 in Green. Car sales overall were in the tank back when they were new, so Ford made less than the announced limited issue of 7,000.

(edit) Ebay listing removed. Looks like it sold...
