Opus has good feedback on AGon.

I know you are looking for a pre but this Manley amp is very cool. Disclaimer, I own a pair of Manley monoblocks and have owned various VTL Manley signature amps.

I like old stereos, but not an "audiophile" per se. However, I was shown this week what I have to believe was close to $1m home stereo equipment based on some internet sleuthing. I know the name McIntosh as an amp maker mostly. However, EVERYTHING in this place said "McIntosh 75th anniversary" on it. I think 4 "mono block" power amps and maybe 4 pre amps. CD player, funky looking turntable, massive TV and 4 huge floorstanding McIntosh speakers with what looked like 75 separate drivers in each one. This wasn't even in a private home. It was actually in a really, really nice garage.

Playing with these new neumann kh150 studio monitors last few days. Dsp, amps, room eq, and super accuracy built into one unimpressive looking box.

They are doing a pretty compelling job replacing high dollar and high weight equipment in background. Definitely need the sub though.

Nice, do you have speaker wires and RCA patch cables? What amp are you using the Carver 4.0?

I grabbed this from an old thread ....

My Carver 4.0t is connected to the Polk SDA 2.3s above... don't recall the bi-wires on 'em... here's a dusty back pic...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1740864389.jpg

Might break out the Polk SDA 1A and Sony ES TN9000 ... prolly easier... on day one ;)

I have interconnects too... I had issues :D

Might still have 'em ...

Thanks all!

This brings back memories of the systems Ian McArthur used to post about... I miss him ... to polite to comment on my Polk SDAs ;) .... such a cool guy.

Who else besides Bill V. knows what I have to play with again.... wif three pair of vintage SDAs?

Gimmicks, warts, and all :)

Did you receive your new Rotel yet or did they send it using Canada post?
