Hamilton let him go....we will find out why on Friday. I will be watching.
My guess is that his arm is too weak for the wider field, but they said that about Doug Flutey... Pretty sure Johnny has contract out to return to the NFL if he can find a job.

That may be a good point re: his arm. 'Hope not. I want to see him succeed.
He's a gutsy dude...just right for pro football. His personality issues, on the other hand...............

It's a weird story. Hamilton sang his praises, and actually need a better QB. But Johnny never got a snap.
Then he gets traded, and Hamilton claims Johnny will be a great QB in Montreal? Doesn't add up. I hope he's not off the wagon. If he can still scramble and throw he could be great in the CFL, Flutey was outstanding, maybe the best ever. I hope he turns it around, this is his last shot before he becomes a sad story of 'coulda been'.

Yeah, I read an article about Hamilton's coach crowing about JM's skill set.
Weird. . Isn't Masoli working out at Hamilton? He looked damn good last time I watched...a couple of weeks ago.

Masoli ain't the answer this year, but he is good. I have to assume the team thought he was their best QB.
I haven't seen a lot of CFL this year, I have access via my satellite dish, but no time. Hamilton looks terrible, maybe the O-line is the problem, maybe their receivers suck. If that's the case Johnny can't help them.

I just saw the lowlights on Sports Center. 2nd pass was a pick. + 3 more interceptions, 100ish yards and no touchdowns.
Tough day. |

He had four days of practice with the team. He hasn't played meaningful football in years. He made some poor decisions for sure, but he showed signs that he could be very good.
CFL football is very different from the NFL. Very few QB's have been great from day one. Give him a season before you judge.

Give him a season? He has played 3 as a professional and yesterdays game proved Hamilton dodged a bullet dumping him to Montreal.🙄 |

Montreal is the worst team in the CFL. I'd put money on the NDSU (North Dakota State) Bison kicking their ass.
Hopeless secondary...missed tackles...such little talent. As the announcers said, the team has to rise to JM's style. Not my words...the announcer's. No football for 900+ days...basically plucked him off the street, gave him 4 days, and put him in. He apparently lived at the compound for those 4 days learning and drawing plays on the white board, etc. He's Montreal's starting QB. He'll develop. Doug Flutie was a disaster his first year up there. Now he's in the CFL Hall of Fame...considered one of the best players in CFL history. Give the guy a break...he's talented, tough, and has the respect of his players. Notice how all of them tapped his helmet, slapped his back, bumped his fist, etc., when coming off the field. They know how tough it is right now for the guy.
